Semantic Searching with Vector Databases and their Applications in Quote Identification

Talk at SCOOP: Source Codes of the Past — Launching an international ATR/HTR Network for Manuscript Analysis across Time and Culture, hosted by the Princeton Humanities Initiative at the Institute for Advanced Study, 12–13 June 2025. I explore how vector databases can power semantic search across manuscript corpora, with a focus on applications for identifying and tracing quotations across traditions.
